Pastor and his wife arrested for sexually assaulting a minor A pastor, 47 year old James S. Jackson and his wife , Valerie Jackson have been arrested and put in jail on sex-related charges after a teenager revealed to investigators with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office that she had had years of “sexual sessions” with the couple. The teenager who is now 15 and whose name has not been revealed because of the sensitivity of the case and her age, told detectives with the Child Protection Team that James Jackson first started abusing her sexually when she was only 11 years old. She said he groomed her by showing her movies which turned sexual. She said James Jackson then started to expose himself to her and that during one session, he made her perform oral sex on him while teaching her how to put on a condom. A report by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) submitted to President Muhammadu Buhari has linked Senate President Bukola Saraki and some of his aides to the diversion of about N19bn from the N522bn Paris Club refund. EFCC says Saraki and his aides may have diverted money that belonged to government The Punch reports that the report also indicted one Robert Mbonu of Melrose General Services Limited, a former Managing Director of Societe Generale Bank of Nigeria, the commercial bank owned by Saraki’s family. According to the report, also under investigation is the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and the relationship manager to Saraki in Access Bank Kathleen Erhimu. Also under probe are Saraki’s aides Obiora Amobi, Gbenga Makanjuola, Kolawole Shittu and Oladapo Idowu. The report alleges that sometimes in December, Saraki introduced the ex-bank MD, Mbonu, to Erhimu where his aforementioned aides were also present. After the meeting, N3.5bn was lodged in Melrose

Two notorious kidnappers were killed yesterday night in a gun battle with men of Rivers State Police Command. A statement issued by the spokesperson for the Command, DSP Omoni Nnamdi said operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Rivers State Command,  while following up a case of kidnapping, played along with the kidnappers who were waiting for a ransom. The Operatives traced them to a forest in Umuebulu, Etche LGA, where the kidnapped victims namely: Amadi Okey ’m’ Comrade Stanley Odioye ‘m’ and Princess Maduegbulam ‘f’ were blind folded and being guarded by four armed men.  The hoodlums on sighting the Police engaged them in a gun battle and in a return fire, two of the hoodlums were fatally wounded, while the other two escaped with bullet wounds. The hostages were rescued immediately and released to their families after being debriefed.  Items recovered from the kidnappers include two locally made guns and 10 cartridges.
