Gunmen Attack Diamond Bank, Item Street Owerri, Shoot Chinese Man, Kill Police Man

Armed Robbers on Friday May 5th, 2017 attacked Diamond Bank at Item street, Owerri, the Imo State capital while trying to rob a Chinese contractor.

The contractor (a white man), his driver and a police orderly were trailed and followed by the gunmen until they got to the bank.

The suspected gunmen, shot the Chinese expatriate and also gunned down his police orderly, who confronted them. The robbers reportedly made away with a sum of N10 million Naira which the contractor went to withdraw from the bank.

An attempt made by the expatriate's driver to rush his boss and the policeman to a nearby hospital failed as he collided with an oncoming vehicle with passengers along Okigwe road.

The police officer was said to have died immediately while three passengers in the oncoming vehicle sustained various degrees of injuries.

The orderly's body has since been deposited at the morgue.

The Vehicles had a head-on collision, which resulted to the police officer's death.

2 Nigerians arrested in London for Internet fraud

The suspects Oluwole Oluwanisola, 50, and his brother-in-law Bolarinwa kolawole idowu, 40, will be jailed for 14 years for taking part in a 25 million pound Internet fraud involving victims from 55 countries. The mission of internet fraud and money laundering scams came to an end for two suspected Nigerian men based in London.
